“Andalucía Agrotech” is an initiative of the Junta de Andalucía regional government body tasked with accelerating the digitisation of the local agri-food sector at a productive, logistic and commercial level.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of Andalucía, Ricardo Domínguez, took advantage of his appearance at the first edition of ‘Andalucía Digital Week‘ to present a project that will create a new digital innovation platform capable of bringing together all players involved in the agro-technology sector.
The aim is to help companies identify technical solutions to improve their competitiveness and decision-making processes within the business.
More than 90 companies have signed up to the platform that Dominguez himself defined as “an instrument to accompany and accelerate the implementation of digital innovation in the agri-food value chain”. The platform will be used to attract investors and funding, while informing participants of the possibilities of public financing.
“Andalucía Agrotech” is multidisciplinary in character and will be the first regional point of contact for digital innovation in the sector. It will function as “a benchmark ecosystem in Europe, connecting with European and international networks to help companies become more competitive”.
The participation and involvement of companies and organisations, as well as administrations and financial entities, will nonetheless be key to achieving these aims.
Tragsatec has collaborated in this initiative by preparing a report on the analysis and design of an innovation centre for the food sector commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of Andalucía.
The main line of work of Tragsa Group’s technicians is to support the technical assistance given by Andalucía’s ERDF Operational Programme in the areas of evaluation and studies, as well as information and communication, related to the Digitisation of the Agri-Food Chain and the Bioeconomy.
